Over 50 years ago, advertising's hall of fame inductee, David Oglivy from the advertising firm of Oglivy & Mather New York was quoted in Ad Week Magazine as to what advertising should be. • John Murphy

• John Murphy knows advertising and what it takes to generate results. Prior to starting his agency in Watertown over 35 years ago John sold newspaper advertising MRS Printing in Gouverneur, NY. (owner of nine community newspapers in northern New York State. John served local businesses creating weekly ads, monitoring results and fine tuning the promotional approach. Promoted to Primary Account Supervisor for the P&C Markets account for the printing and distribution of Circulars throughout New York State, John further honed his client services skills.
  
  Totally switching gears and expanding his base knowledge, John then joined WMSA Radio in Massena, NY and threw himself into the world of community broadcasting by serving as Advertising Account Exec., on-air announcer and news reporter. This experience, coupled with his degree from Murray University, provided John with unparalleled insight into the daily demands of a business with retail and public relations emphasis.
  
  In 1983, Roberts Advertising of Syracuse chose John as primary Client Liaison for the Kinney Drug Store chain, directing PR efforts in each of the communities they served. Working with each store's manager, John helped create consistent exposure for TV, Radio, Newspapers and monthly circulars. John also worked on campaigns for Carthage Machine, Mitts and Merril Shredders, Viking Snow Plows, St. Laurence National Bank, Carthage Savings Bank, Water Fun Village, Thompson Resorts and Empire Boat Lines.
  
  Forming his own agency in 1986, John served many more new clients and started Castle Cable Advertising in 2001, serving northern New York's most popular tourist area in the 1000 Islands with exclusive Cable TV Production and placement.

• The newest addition to Murphy Advertising is Josh Lacey, a graphic artist from Watertown, NY. A north country native, Josh received his Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design in 2010 from SUNY Plattsburgh. In addition to graphic design, Josh also studied photography, web design, publication and corporate branding. Since joining the Murphy Advertising team, Josh has quickly developed skills in television and audio production as well.

  Jack started his business in Portland, ME after graduating from Rhode Island School of Design in Providence RI in 1974. He has served on the faculties at the Maine College of Art in Portland, ME and Russell Sage College in Albany, NY. His knowledge in the visual arts extends over 40 years, from Logo Design, Exhibit Design, Political Campaigns, Billboard and Print Design to Industrial Videos and TV Ads. Working with John Murphy Advertising over the past 20 years has been a unique experience. Collaborating on shared projects has given clients extended resources at a cost savings advantage in the marketplace today.

  Devin grew up in the business, having traveled all over the New England area to attend client meetings with his father at a very young age. Devin is proficient in numerous graphic design programs such as Adobe, Corel Draw, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Electric Rain, Swift 3D, Swish, Action Script, XML, HTML, CSS, and Java. With such a broad range of services, he is always working on a wide array of projects at one time.
